As part of my quarantine I decided to set up workshops for those who need motivation and ideas to create.

For those who wish to support my mini creative blocks with a small donation, I added a link in the toolbar.

You will find below the previous videos as well as the results sent by certain participants.

Thank you !

The videos are temporary only in french.

Mini creative BLOCK      1/7

from 27  at 30  MARCH

Mini creative block #1  offers you a collage workshop followed by an exploration of your work  and endless possibilities with the Layout app.

With this application you can play with the different  symmetrical effects and filters very easily to bring your work to another level.

Compilation of some results:

Work on two different colored backgrounds.

A character and the rest of the composition with  textures and colors accentuate the importance of the character.

Report of the lines of your elements that melt into each other  others.

Work on paper versus photoshop.

Include text.

SHARING MAGDALENA  : The first illustrations of the video.

''Thanks again for the instructions - I realize how the flow of creation is more natural and more focused when I have imposed constraints. In addition to your instructions - I imposed a space constraint on myself (I took a very small desk, where I could just put a magazine - and a collage at the same time) - and a quantity constraint: no more than 4 magazines/books to cut out. it really helped me a lot - the times I take 20 books - a big table - and no theme, I find myself cutting out all the pictures I like and they don't inspire me together!

The color medium I chose really brings out certain colors - but I had composed all my collage on red and blue backgrounds first, and eventually I kept all my collage but just changed the background last. I found that my new colors made those of the collage stand out more. Thank you again I look forward to the next instruction! ''

Mini creative BLOCK     3/7

from 3  at 8  April

Mini Creative Block #3:

Self-portrait, artist portrait home photoshoot baby.

I offer you through a photography exercise with the means you have. You should  create a series of photos inspired by portraits of well-known artists. The goal is to get out of your comfort zone, have fun playing the role of several characters: photographic director, model (artist), makeup artist, hairdresser if necessary, photo editor... YOU DO IT ALL.

What if you were to be on the cover of the next Vogue or your favorite art magazine? What will your cover photo for your great artist biography look like? And the few  scenes from your film?

Some results to share with you:

Mini Creative Block #4  : Sculpture  multi-size narrative!

Inspired by a creativity exercise by Jesse Draxler, American illustrator, as well as other exercise suggestions from various visual artists, I offer you in this block #4, a game in 5 steps. This will improve  your observation , sharpen your techniques and practice  your narrative ability. A game that can be played alone at home or remotely #CONFINEMENTFRIENDLY

Take inspiration from Nathalie:

I chose to take up the challenge step by step to keep the spontaneity and above all not to  “formatting” the head with ideas in advance, to have curiosity and that gave me a little surprise...

So, in step 1 I chose these objects: my cell phone, a hook, a small maneki neko, a permanent marker and a pig.

I come to the anecdote that I found very funny: in step 4, I had to take pictures… and without my phone, which had become the object to be photographed, I was very annoyed! Luckily my husband was there to lend me his for a photo shoot.

Notes:

- collage: I chose to take only bits of paper with ugly patterns.

-acrylic: without sketches, with a flat brush and raw colors

PS: I started late to start this mini creative block but I continue with pleasure, on large formats for a change!

Place  your cursor over the image to see the composition analyses!

Have fun and try  to find other reasons why this image is well composed, balanced...
